New Fids!

My new fids are here! Here they are! I don't know their names yet, but I'm sure I'll figure them out eventually. With a little patience and caring, even a human can be taught.

New fids!

The new little guys are doing okay so far, they seem to get along. They eat together, roost together, and preen each other. They like to flit about, and shake their tail feathers.

All the fids!

This was the situation for the first two days. The new guys sit together and look around, maybe do a little peeping. Nicolo ignores them.

Some progress. Sort of.

Believe it or not, this is an improvement! The newbies are checking little Nicolo out, and he is sitting a little bit closer to them. I didn't get a picture, but he has actually looked at them a couple times, and even peeped with them a little. If things continue like this, they may all be friends by, oh, next Valentine's day?

I'm thinking tomorrow I'll put a millet spray between the cages so they have to get close to get their treat!

Though I'm told that they should all just automatically get along together, I am wary. Nicolo's home before he came to me was not a good one, and even though he likes and wants company, he's now very shy.
